There are two very different pictures of Giovanna Vasconez circulating right now. Giovanna Vasconez is the Bushwick Community HS art teacher who, according to according to the New York Post and others, slept with one of her students and fooled around with another; the New York Post also says that official documents show she smoked pot and drank alcohol with both students. Reports say she had not been criminally charged, but she was let go from her job.
Despite the similar backdrop, the photos could not be more different. Is it really the same person? Or did one news source get it wrong? These almost look like photos of sisters (who happen to have the same forearm tattoo).
What’s more, it’s not clear that the subject knows why she is being photographed – in the first shot, the subject looks apprehensive; in the second shot, she looks amused.
