Looking For a Good Nail Salon, Manicure/Pedicure
(Bay Ridge/Bensonhurst)
by justmeandyou on Mon Dec 22, 08 12:56 pm |
I usually go to the same person at Mimis nails on 87th and 3rd. Ann is good and takes her time.
I would like to find a salon to alternate, maybe a little closer to Bay Ridge Parkway but not necessary.
No rush jobs, or quickies. I like neat, tidy and someone that can file well. It bugs me when the manicurist looks around the salon more then she is looking at my nails...sorry just a little pet peeve.
Thanks to all that reply!

Has work stopped on the new Key Food on 69th St?
(Bay Ridge/Bensonhurst)
by BrooklynRowHouse on Sun Dec 21, 08 11:15 pm |
The initial permits are still up but I've only seen a couple of workers doing anything with the place. When I looked in an open door last week, it looked like nothing has been done since early September.

Ciao from Italy
(Bay Ridge/Bensonhurst)
by dade on Thu Dec 04, 08 6:20 am |
Hi everybody! I'm Davide from Verona, Italy, and I'm 34. I've been in Bensonhurst last june (during my vacation in New York) and I hanged out the streets around but I didn't know where really I could find real italian-american people.. The streets in the morning are quiet deserts, and I didn't find any italian club or pubs where I could come in, watch Italy soccer match and get on the people. I found a club nearby the Colosseo restaurant to watch Italy soccer match but people aren't very hospitable.. So I had to go back in Manhattan to see the match, 'cause really I didn't know where go. I found very pretty Bensonhurst, I don't know why but it come into my heart and I'd like to come back, a day..
I'm writing here hoping to meet some italian-american people to chat..
Could you tell me if this is the only one Bensonhurst's forum or site?
Ciao a tutti!
Davide

Bay Ridge Co-op
(Bay Ridge/Bensonhurst)
by kitten11204 on Sat Nov 22, 08 1:23 pm |
Does anyone know the progress of the proposed Bay Ridge Co-op?
It would be great to have affordable and healthy food nearby instead of traveling to Park Slope.
Thanks!

Community Composting
(Bay Ridge/Bensonhurst)
by kitten11204 on Thu Nov 20, 08 3:43 pm |
I would like to know if Bensonhurst has any community composting sites.
If not I would like to find out how to create one. It's important not just for the plants but for reducing garbage waste. 27% of household garbage can be used for composting. Please keep me posted, Thank you.
