Some things that people in Brooklyn are saying right now

Recommend FABULOUS dog walkers/pet sitters (Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo)
by evbk on Wed Aug 20, 08 9:45 pm

Hi All,

I don't often find someone to rave about, but if you have pets, then you absolutely have to give E&E Pets a try! They are wonderful! It's 2 women who left the corporate world behind to follow their passion and you can just tell they are animal lovers at heart. I have a pretty anti-social cat (until she warms up to people) and had to go out of town unexpectedly last week. She immediately took to these ladies! They came to my place to watch her which was great. I am also fostering a dog and they have been walking him for about 2 weeks now and he goes crazy whenever one of them comes by. I know a few other folks who use their service and they all said the same wonderful things. Apparently they walk dogs longer than you pay for (if scheduling and time allows)...simply because they enjoy it (and have helped out with errands too). They come redy with treats and toys, as well as photos/videos for you to see. Their email is EEpets@hotmail.com. They're working on a website, etc., but are trying to grow via word-of-mouth and personal recommendations. Eva and Engela are worth it!!!

this brownstone has been on the market for over a year? i noticed that they dropped the price from 6 to 5.5 million. still seems way over priced as the inside is bland with no original details. does anyone know whats going on with this property? thanks.

Rental Spaces for event (Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo)
by iluvbrooklyn on Fri Aug 08, 08 2:53 pm

I'm in search of a space in Brooklyn which would be appropriate for an event with about 100 or less people. Does anyone have any suggestion?? Preferably not a restaurant or someplace with a caterer already attached to it. A view would be ideal, but not necessary.

Thanks for your help

Any comments on 150 Joralemon building? (Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo)
by fishermb on Mon Aug 04, 08 12:42 pm

Hey all, I've been renting in the Heights for a while now and looking to make a purchase some time in the near future. I see very reasonable-looking listings pop up at 150 Joralemon every so often, with 2-bedrooms even going below 500K. The maintenance charges are a bit over the norm for square footage, but is there anything else wrong with this building as to why its prices are often substantially below neighborhood medians?

There were fireworks a few moments ago here in Brooklyn Heights... does anyone know why? I know every so often this happens, but I'm curious to know if it's published anywhere when they happen?

Bike Lane on Henry Street (Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo)
by LimestoneKid on Sun Jul 27, 08 9:14 pm

This is probably an old & worn out subject but what's with the churchgoers who seem to feel that it's their god-given right to park in the bike lane on Henry Street while they attend church on sunday mornings?

Do they ask for the absolution of their sins while their in church or do they not perceive their parking in the bike lane as a sin?
