Having worked as a nanny and babysitter for the last 8 years I am experienced with the kind of constant attention that toddlers and young children require. I have worked with children as young as six weeks old. My most recent charge was eight-months-old when I started with her. She is now twelve-months-old and full of spunk and gleefully mischievous energy. Even from the youngest age I strive to nurture a child’s energy and their natural impulse to explore. In addition to working as a nanny I have taught private children’s art lessons for the past five years and have an MFA in painting and drawing from Pratt Institute.

I am CPR certified and I have excellent references available upon request.

Inner City Sports Little League will be holding its early bird registration this
Saturday at Herbert Von King Park from 11am -3pm in the Recreation Center. Registration is open to children living in the following areas: Bed-Stuy, Ft. Greene, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Brownsville, and portions of East NY, Bushwick and Flatbush.

Dear Parents,

I'm a Georgetown graduate with a degree in literature that works as a food editor in the city. I have tutored children of all ages (middle school and high school included), and specialize in K-12 reading, writing, and math, and college applications/essays. Small ongoing children's writing workshop for all ages of children's writing, from picture books to young adult novels, has a space open. The class meets in Chelsea (W. 20s, Manhattan) fro 6-8 pm every other Thursday. Fee is $250 per 6 sessions (12 weeks). Students bring in work and will receive instructor-led group critiques each time work is brought in and will also receive e-mailed comments. Taught by an experienced author and teacher. Seasoned writers or talented beginners welcome. Applicants must submit a writing sample. Class starts in January. I'm a longtime student in the class. Please contact me for details.

Loving, pro-active sitter available NOW in Brooklyn Heights and surrounding areas

We are relocating to Portland OR & want to put the word out regarding our wonderful baby sitter, Akada. She will be looking to join a new family, full- or part-time and we couldn't recommend her more highly.

She has looked after daughter for the last year & a half with such great, pro-active, up-beat and dependable care. I seriously don't know what we would have done without her! Our daughter has really thrived with her... and Akada has always been extremely accommodating with our nutty schedules.

She would love to find a new situation here in Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO or the surrounding neighborhoods, but she is also available to work in Manhattan.
