Either really smart thief or dumb phone operators etc.... and at the same time really dumb thief.

I got my phone number stolen. It's a vanity number. So yesterday I went to the local tmobile shop to get my dad a new sim card. His wasn't working. I got the card. Tried to call his new card. My phone wasn't working.

I call myself on my other line. Some dude pickup on my line!!! I hangup right away. Told Tmobile what was going on. They switch it back to my simcard on my phone.

At this point tmobile doesn't know whats going on. Some how my number was just switch over to some other guys.

I thought nothing of it. Today Same thing happen. My phone wasn't working again!

I call them. They were like let us see what happen. They claim I called them to get my account info. Next thing you know "I" cancel my own line.

I told them why would I do that I just got my number back yesterday. The info they got from TMObile allow the guy to cancel my line and reset the password to my online account. The online one was easy to get back. Just reset to my email and it was done.

But now my phone number is in limbo. The guy cancel it and some other carrier is holding my number to be transfer to them.

This guy for some reason wants this number badly!! This is the dumb part of the guy. Like I can't tell my phone is no longer working. I know who stole it! the guy with the same number as mines. I should have talk to the guy yesterday. Dude you realize I know you stole my number!!!

It's not like stealing something else. Where you won't ever see that again. The number on the other hand is register and you can dial any time etc...... But its a pain the in the ass. Apparently they have to wait 4-5 business days to try to get a answer from the 3rd party that is holding my number. while its being transferred.

As of this morning, the NYC ban on sugary drinks is now banning Amazon Fresh from delivering 2
liter bottles of Coke to anyone in NYC. As of right

How is this legal? Amazon Fresh and Fresh Direct are not restaurants or

NYPD and FDNY helicopter traffic seems to be most noticeable during the summer months, in part because residents have their windows open and can hear them operating.

People then utilize online media to try and figure out what situation the helicopters are responding to, and whether they should be afraid. I've watched the phenomena with some interest over the past few years, because I have a belief the people may be better off not knowing of the situations, and would be blissfully unaware if there wasn't a noisy helicopter overhead to make them wonder and worry.

As technology advances, the use of expensive, noisy helicopters is poised to decline. Shot spotter microphones, quickly deployed agency-operated internet-enabled cameras, drones and other technologies are rapidly maturing.

http://www.governmentvideo.com/article/fdny-employs-video-for-quick-decisions/115853

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/nypd-drones-fight-crime-article-1.1799980

All of which may allow NYC agencies (FDNY, DOB, OEM and NYPD) to operate in ways which do not arouse the "traditional" public anxiety and curiosity, and instead create slightly different forms of it...

I get a few of these tickets a year.

Basically some jerk in the sanitation department gives me a ticket for not cleaning 18" to the street. Not my side walk but the street. Does anyone know what the cleaning regulations are for street cleaning? I can't clean the street. There are cars there and when there isn't cars there, there is busy traffic. My place is next to two high ways and a tunnel.

I'll write what he wrote.

I violated section 16-118(2)(9) failure to clean 18" into the street.

Fighting them is tiresome. I win some and lose some, I win if I go to the Manhattan court one. If i go to the borough ones. I always lose. Besides fighting these tickets is there a better way to get these jerks to stop giving me ticket which is ridiculous to clean the streets that they have sweeping days for and trash that literally rolls by like tumble weed.

Any help would be appircated and if there is a website for their codes of cleaning even better!

Housing a Growing City
Jan 19, 2016, 6:30PM-8:30PM

Since the Tenement House Laws of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, New York City has been a national laboratory for innovative and affordable housing policies. But numerous challenges remain in a city with an expanding population. Low-rent housing is evaporating, homelessness is skyrocketing, the building stock is increasingly aged, and the city’s economic and demographic landscape faces ongoing shifts. Join a panel of leaders in New York City urban planning—including housing advocates, community leaders and city officials—to discuss these changes in our urban fabric and the potential solutions to ensuring the city remains a leader in affordable housing. This event is co-presented with the Museum of the City of New York as part of the Affordable New York: A Housing Legacy exhibition program and takes place at the Museum. Tickets are $10 with discount code RENT on the MCNY website.

I'm new to apartment living so unsure how common this type of odor is and if it's normal when an oil burner kicks in after a summer of non-use. I researched the cause of such a smell, and it appears there may be a faulty HVAC system in the building next door.
