PLGArts Chamber Series presents andPlay

PLGArts Chamber Music will present an afternoon of contemporary chamber music performed by andPlay,
on Sunday, June 8th
Following a successful kickoff concert, this is the second event in an
ongoing series of concerts in Prospect Lefferts Garden.

andPlay is commited to expanding the violin/viola duo repertoire through
performing rarely heard works and commissioning emerging composers.  This
New York based duo of Maya Bennardo, violin, and Hannah Levinson, viola, first
played to an eager crowd on Fire Island in the summer of 2012, and have
performed since at the Firehouse Space inWilliamsburg, Brooklyn, and in the
Concerts on the Slope and East Bank Music series.  Their dedication to
collaborating with young composers has led them to premiere six commissions in
the past year.

and Hannah met while studying at Oberlin Conservatory and continued their educations
at New York University and the Manhattan School of Music, respectively. Despite
living on opposite sides of the city, the members of andPlay enjoy taking the
subway to meet for rehearsals and delicious baked goods.

Arts is delighted to add PLG Arts Chamber Music to their current programming,
which includes visual arts shows, jazz performance, theater, author readings, and
other expressions of creativity in local venues.  This new series of classical music performances will be held
in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and surrounding neighborhoods.
