Hi neighbors!

I have a tivo. Whoopdeedoo! Now I can watch whatever I want whenever I want. I'd like to know what's being broadcast on BCAT and if there's anything that you think I should record.

Suggestions?

I think the silence speaks for itself.

Some of the religious programs are entertaining. It's sort of inspiring to see people so passionate about their beliefs. Plus, every so often you see some cute women.

"The Hambone Show" is funny. It's produced by a funny rotund guy named Powell Burns. Lots of toilet humor and big-breasted women a la Benny Hill.

There used to be a second show of this sort called "Variations on Film", by another rotund guy named Robert Perez, but I believe it was discontinued. He had a recurring character called Boricua Barbee, who was, you guessed it, a big-breasted rendition of the famous doll.

The rap shows can be entertaining, if only because most of the artists are so devoid of talent that watching them perform will leave a person in stitches.

As you might have surmised, I watched a lot of BCAT while my wife and I were saving to buy our apartment.

I agree with Jack, BCAT is a way to voyuer into another world.

The religious programming is classic store front church stuff that I could never witness first hand.

The night club shots are definately shot by JAH.

I haven't seen it in awhile, so I can't be sure it's still even on, but I've always really enjoyed Ghoul A Go-Go, the monster musical kiddie show.

Actually there are a couple of decent shows on BCAT. Neighborhood Beat profiles local businesses and people around Brooklyn. I learned a lot about things to do and places to go in Williamsburg by turning in to that show. In the Zone is a show that profiles local high school sports teams which is kind of funny to watch. Also, those religious shows are a trip!

There is some mind-bending stuff on BCAT. I get a bit confused as to what is BCAT and what might be another Community Access channel, but my favorites have to be the 4th grade basketball (St. Friendship or something like that?), presented with no commentary and few score updates, and "Inside the Park Slope Food Co-Op", which is everything you would hope for it to be, and more.

I knew if I gave it time people would have recommendations.

For anyone else who's curious about BCAT, I found their online programming schedule:

There used to be a show where someone would alternate between found clips of extremely gory footage and sexy stuff. I miss that show. Forget what it was called. It was like the local news but without all the blather.

Regarding gore, there used to be a show called Hellrazor. The guy who produced it struck me as an angry type who spent every minute of his free time digesting slasher flicks and who kept stacks of Fangoria in his closet...the type who would one day wind up on the front pages for gunning down 12 people in a shopping mall.

The only show I've seen on there that was of any note, was some gospel preacher talking about holocaust denial. It was really really offensive.

I came across that show twice, on different occasions. I've programmed the channel out now, which says a lot since I don't have cable and have few channels to pick from!
