in order not to a: cook in this heat, or b: go out for groceries and end up buying ice cream, i c: ordered dinner from vegetarian delight on 5th ave.
i have to tell you, this is some of the yummiest chinese food i've had in a long time. and the spinach noodles with vegetables and baby ginger rocks. shrimp dumplings were also lovely.

Where is it? I want some.
(I mean, where is this restaurant exactly, so I can go pick up a menu? Not, where is your food, which I want you to share with me. This heat is messing with my brain.)

There's a place like that on 7th you might like, Tofu delite or something? Massive amounts of veggie chinese dishes. Good stuff!
I'm not sure I could live without icecream...

Yeah, Tofu on 7th, I used to order from them but they were so slow. I can't wait an hour for Chinese food, not when Red Hot can get my food to me in seven minutes (this actually happened once). I haven't ordered from Tofu in years though; I should give them another chance. Lately I've been ordering from Beet all the time. I love Beet.

I've only ordered delivery from them once or twice, but I don't recall it being slow, then again, I live like 3 or 4 or so blocks from them... I usually eat in the place.

i don't eat tofu much, unless it's broken up and mixed in something. ergo, anyplace with "tofu" in the name isn't likely a place i'll go to.
master wok used to be my favorite place of choice; their spinach and shrimp dumplings were to die for. but there was an incident in their bathroom that involved me and a cockroach. i can't go there anymore.
(and yes, i know there are cockroaches everywhere.)

Master Wok is closed now, right? Years ago, I called in an order for broccoli with garlic sauce. When I went to pick it up, they had an order of chicken with broccoli waiting for me. I said it wasn't what I had ordered and they said I was LYING. I said that I hadn't eaten meat in ten years and that I was quite sure I hadn't ordered chicken, and I certainly didn't have any reason to lie about it. They were so horrible. I walked out without any food and it was late and I'd been at work for like 12 hours on a Sunday and was starving so I HATE them with a passion! Worst customer servive ever.

Hunan Delight on 6th Avenue and Union Street has a great vegetarian menu and the staff is very friendly. I want to know where this vegetarian delight is on 5th Avenue and if the shrimp you mentioned were real shrimp or fake, like the fake shrimp at Vegetarian Palate on Flatbush Avenue.

yea, Hunan Delight rocks (although we lovingly refer to it as HUMAN delight as the sign appears it reads)
Currently they're renovating however still doing take-out. kind of creeps me out though, knowing all the construction is going on steps away from the kitchen, I can't help but think that crunch isn't a water chesnut but a piece of spackle cake or something....
I bet the "Grand Re-Opening" will take another few weeks

Hunan is my favorite Chinese takeout in the area, but that isn't saying much, unfortunately. The quality also varies dramatically depending on who's cooking.

Red Hot is a little scary in that regard. They can sometimes get an order up to my place (8th/President) in like 10 min. But, to be honest, I don't care bc their Vegetable Tso's Chicken (fake chicken) is soooooooooo good.

not sure. but I tried Mr WonTon once and was loving the PuPu platter, great deal and lots of options on that lazy susan...especially when you're PMS.

Beet is on 7th and maybe 11th I believe...or 10th. I like it, food is good. I saw earlier posts once that some people seem to be annoyed with their menus and shit. they dont make their way by us though (I'm 6th and Pres, neighbor)
the menus dont make their way to our mailboxes I mean, however, they will deliver to our section

just looked on Menupages
BEET is on 10th and the dish is listed under "Try Me"
its Cognac Ginger Beef.
it's much better when you eat it there but it transports well (they keep the noodles seperate so it doesnt go soggy)
OH....you MUST try KiKu on 5th. I order from there at least once a week if not go there

you need to get off the damn PC and get a Mac is what you NEED to do ;)
lunch: seafood salad and some rolls (split w/ a co-worker)
eel and a spicy tuna.
with a side of iced coffee (I know, what a combo) apparently Starbucks is giving free coffee today. not one, but 2 girls from the office brought me back one. cause I'ma studmuffin like that ;)
back to Kiku though, its not on the printed menu but on the outside board as a special...you HAVE got to try the tuna dumplings.
its a thin sheet of raw tuna, crimmped on top to look like a dumpling, filled inside w/ mashed avocado/crunch/mayo/and I think crack.
and comes with a side of cucumber but you have to remind them to put the cucumber in w/ your order.

and i'm damned hungry. just finished leftovers from last night's spinach noodle extravaganza and i'd kill for chocolate. or pancakes.

PS Ale House delivers and has a kids-size portion of mac-n-cheese so you don't just strap it on to you and dump your face in it until you run out of food ('cause that's what I would do with too big a portion)
