Mail on St. Johns btw. Washington and Classon is a mess. Didn't get some stuff for three days two weeks ago, and there was absolutely no mail today. _________________ The best of men aren't at their "best" at all times.

who is your mail lady?
mine is Peaches
she's so good, she makes me show her I.D if I go to my mail box before she's done filling them all up.

That substitute mail lady is, pardon my French, a total bitch. She's super-short, so she refuses to put any mail in mailboxes she can't reach. She throws all my mail--bills, checks included--on the floor of my apartment lobby and forces us to sort out the mail for each apartment. We put a tiny ladder (like, three steps) out there for her, but she refuses to use it, saying she could "hurt herself."
I complained to the USPS, but the results are what you'd expect.

That form is sent to a black hole, where small men with beady eyes laugh at the words.

whoever gets it, they phoned me back!
that's right, I sent them an email and they called me on le telephone.
we had a sub while the regular lady was on sick leave (I learned)
we were missing bills and incoming checks, it was very frustrating.
esp since our regular carrier is great

Just when I thought I had escaped Adelphi post office--my Aunt from England sent me a package to my old Eastern Pkwy address! Nooo! I did a change of address before I moved, but I am still soooo afraid.

Adelphi sucks. Their all time worst - delivering three airliner DVDs to my apt # - in the building next door..Priority Mail at that. It was Saturday and I happened to be home when the person who owned the mail box came to ring my apt bell. The box of DVDs was jammed into the mail box. I had to rip open the box to get it out. The neighbour and I marvelled that I was lucky enough to get them at all.
I try to get all my shipments sent to work. Sometimes foreign eBay sellers want to ship to verified home address, which means a trip to Adelphi. It's funny, but each and every time I spot my package on the shelf before the postal worker does. They seem so confused. =)

at my previous apt., i would came home to the mail carrier reading magazines under the stairwell. other times, he would be reading magazines at the bagel shop while on duty with the uniform on and everything - he was considerate enough to bring the mail cart into the bagel shop with him instead of leaving it outside, but...

i've lived here for almost 40 years and the mail has been hideous more than not. There are days when there simply is no delivery. (Woo Woo Holidays only postal workers know about I guess). Sometimes all my mail is at my neighbors. Sometimes the other way around. Bank items used to arrive conveniently pre-opened. The P/O does not diffrentiatie between Prk Place and Prospect Place and Park Avenue and Prospect Avenue. Mail for a man in KANSAS was once deliver4ed to my house.
It seems chronic and to get anything but rude from the people you call is a rarity.
