Just got home from running some errands over on Flatbush and while I was out I saw a notice on the Pintchik marquee that said a Ricky's will be opening on Bergen before Halloween. It also said it would be "here" so I'm wondering if maybe it's going to be in the part of Pintchik where they used to have their blinds department before they renovated and moved that to the other side of the store.

Woohoo! No more schlepping to Manhattan for hair dye!

No, it's actual real Ricky's. I got a discount card in the mail (15% off - yay!). The card said it was their first Brooklyn location.

Oh, good! I didn't even know they did the temporary Halloween location thing.

Ricky's always has such a great selection of hair products. Very important for hair-obsessives like myself. geek

If you go to their web site - www.rickys-nyc.com - you can get the details. it is at 107 Montague Street.

OK - It's a real Ricky's, with a downstairs, and a dildo room and everything. They're also carrying some fairly high-end products.

I forgot to post this until just now, but on Friday I was on my way to work and was getting off the bus at the Bergen subway station and I noticed that they have the sign up for the new Ricky's now.

It is indeed where I thought it might be, in what used to be Pintchik's blinds and lighting department. There's still paper up over the windows and I didn't cross the street to check to see if they've posted an opening date. The sign says it's going to be a "Ricky's SuperStore" -- so yeah, bklyngirl, I think you're dead on about the dildo room! Nothing on the Ricky's website yet.

Will this be Flatbush's first dildo room? Laughing

Bah -- in case anyone's interested, turns out this is one of the temporary Halloween locations after all.

Well, the better ones are made of silicone. They're more expensive, but the cheap rubber ones often contain pthalates -- Google it, it's kinda scary that people put that stuff in their bodies.

I think Ricky's (the non-temporary ones) tend more towards the cheap end, though.
