This morning, I stepped in a huge pile of SH*T on the subway platform at the Bergen Street station. MAN! I was so freaked out. The worst thing is there was no way to clean it off my foot! I left the station and found a puddle but it wasn't sufficient, trust me.

And I'm pretty sure it was human sh*t! AARRRRGGGH! I'm assuming it was from some homeless dude. The crap pile was right by the garbage bin, and I was stepping up to it to through out my coffee cup. Someone was squatting there defecating, trying to keep out of view obviously.

This reminded me of the discussion we had about peeing in public, and on the subway platform. Trust me, this is much worse!

Gross yes but horrifying and so scary that a warning had to be put up? Come on, someone stepped in a pile of doo-doo.

To the guy that this happened to, my sympathies to you as this is just an awful thing to happen. Hope you got cleaned up quick and thoroughly somehow.

How about go to the Bergen Street station, and look next to the garbage can on the Manhattan bound platform, and you'll see all the evidence you need. . . . a pile of crap with a footprint in the middle . . . wasn't in the mood to whip out my phone and take a pic. It didn't occur to me someone would want to see that . . . .

Bergen St. as in the 2/3? I may just swing by there tonight and procure the proper evidence and post it here. Hopefully it hasn't been hosed away by the MTA's crack platoon of cleaner-uppers...yeah, right.

BTW, please to tell me what kind of shoes you were wearing - if there's all kinds of stepped-on p00p around I want to get the right pile.

Yes the 2/3 platform. That would be hilarious if you did!

Size eleven black Stacy Adams loafers . . . the tread is kind of a zig-zag pattern, like elongated Zs. The big turd pile is RIGHT NEXT TO the garbage can. Seriously, I don't think other poo-piles are knocking about the platform, or it would have been more obvious. Not like I checked. The stealthy position of this dung heap, deceptively positioned where the unwary commuter would not likely glance, led to my undoing (un doo doo ing?).

Now, I can't promise that nobody else stepped in said poo, but I would be willing to bet that MTA hasn't done a DAMN thing about it . . .

If you get a pic with good tread imprint I'll give you a pic of my shoe and we can compare . . .

Dude, it was HUMAN poo! Have YOU ever stepped in HUMAN poo! Yeah sure everyone stepped in dog crap, or got shat on by a bird . . . but HUMAN POO???

There is something horrifying and strange about contact with human poo. It was a first for me. Ok so I only stepped in it, but I never thought it would happen . . . my first reaction was shock, and disbelief . . . panic . . . then a feeling of bemusement at my strange fortune, a fear of discovery and odor once on the train, then a hearty chuckle on my way from the subway station to work.

Probably a coincidence but I stepped into a #6 train at Bleecker around 9:10 this morning and it reeked of the aforementioned substance. I've been driven out of subway cars late night due to human odor. But something so foul during the morning commute is rare.

Yeah sure it is gross and like I said you have my sympathies but let's be honest we were all infants someone changed our diapers and someone had to deal with our human poo and probably got it on their person. Maybe you've had that experience already. Just think about all of the parents and caretakers of the young and the old every day who have to deal with human poop. Now if you had to choose which would you rather deal with - human or dog? Either way it's gross and it sucks I'm not really looking to get in to a debate.

Baby poop is gross, especially when you get towards potty training time (3 years give or take), and I've changed my fair share of diapers, but stepping in adult poop on the subway is pretty disgusting.

Maybe the "EC" mom and her diaper-free infant were heading back from the food co-op:

OMG! I read that and was hysterically laughing! That puts the boy peeing in the gutter to shame! I mean . . . . I worry about spilling coffee on the train sometimes . . . . but baby pee takes it to a new level.

I totally agree. I changed my neice's poopy diaper once . . . . ONCE!

UGH! I swore NEVER AGAIN! That shit was NASTY!!! It was all smeared around . . . . ek!

And I used to pick up my dog's poo (when I had a dog) all the time. Yeah that was kind of gross, but dog poo is usually like a little log that you can just grab and it's in the bag . . . no biggie.

Trust me . . . stepping in HUMAN POO . . . again, it's like comparing . . . idk, getting kicked in the ass vs. in the nuts?

Well, while we're being gross, did you ever notice that cat piss smells like a billion times worse than any other kind of piss? Why is that?

Oh my goodness! There are times for diapers! It's not that we don't notice! Living in close proximity has taught us how to ignore rude and boorish people on the Subways.

Reminds me of the time I took my then 2 year old son to a wedding. I forgot to bring extra clothing for him, so of course he had a disgusting - uh - #2 spillover. We went home without the pants and socks we took him to the wedding in. The wedding photos show my son wearing only a shirt and a diaper.

Heh, I've got quite a few of these poo stories from my two kids. It's all coming back to me now.

my understanding is that, since cats evolved as desert creatures, they have VERY efficient kidneys. one reason their pee smells so bad is that it has much less water in it than other animals'.

now back to our regular scheduled poogramming.

Speaking of cats there is something worse than cat pee. Cat poop. My cat takes the nastiest dumps of all time.

My friend's cat is very friendly and nice but it has THE WORST farting problem. You're petting the cat and then . . . . "Waaaaaaaaaawww! Get outta here!"

. . . . And today's follow-up to the poo disaster.

Seems like we underestimated the MTA . . . they DID pick up the poo! I almost said they cleaned up the poo, but you can kind of make out where it was.

So now . . . no photo evidence. *sigh* Sorry guys Embarassed

Hah! I actually used the 2/3 that day and almost stepped in it myself. I did see the footprint of where someone had already stepped in it (and was grateful it wasn't me) but it WAS human feces.

And it was definitely and adult's. You could tell by the size of it, honestly.

Now we get to pay even more money to sit on the subway with human feces.

You saw!!! I'll bet it was minutes after I stepped in it!!! I yelled "What the Fuck!" and some lady saw me but must have figured I was some typical subway loony. She just kept walking like it was nothing . . .

Thanks! I am vindicated!
