Just thought I'd remind everyone in the Slope that Atlantic Antic is this Sunday (10/5) so start planning your work excuses for Monday now.

Lots of bands, lots of great food, lots of walking down the street in front of the cops holding a nice cold Six Point...this is not your grandpa's street fair Hamilton (but you can always stay home if you want)

Atlantic antic is one of the few fairs that rock, seriously, Rock bands playing in front of the bars. Lots of food: bahn mi, pies, ice cream, lots of cheap beer, soul food, pernil and beans/rice, Antiques and stoop sales everywhere. It's awesome! _________________ (\__/)

the Last Exit is having susquehanna industrial tool & die (aka SIT and DIE) & les sans culottes, plus go go dancers and dj, all performing outside that afternoon.

Drinking a beer in front of a cop, sounds like fun, I wish grandpa was still around his dream would have been answered.

The only band I can speak to is the Black Hollies at 2:15. Awesome retro-rock n' roll, made up of 3/4 the late great Rye Coalition.

I know they have it by the bottle...they might have it on tap. They have some great beers. I think they had Green King last year.

this is seriously the best street fair around. my favorite part is the brooklyn industries ultra-cheap sale that they do in front of their store. almost everything is $20 or less-- which is exactly what it's actually worth. though i make the pilgrimage alos for the best falafel you will ever have-- Sahadi's!! the only timethey actually make it into the sandwich for you, i think. I agree...Atlantic Antic and the 5th Avenue street fair are the best in the Brooklyn. And it looks like it's going to be a splendid early fall day.

New2hood, it sure is, and you will see tons of kids there. Kids especially like the belly dancing show in front of Key Food. According to Time Out New York Kids it is the thing to do this weekend. Especially if your kid is not a picky eater. _________________ Culture is what we make it Yes it is...Now is the time to invent

Yeah! Had a falafel pita, some pastellios, pulled pork sandwich, meatball sub (shared it all) and watched les sans culottes at Last exit. $4 beers everywhere. I had a blast!
LSC is an amazing band, I can't believe it. Excellent harmonies and catchy riffs. Bill, when are you playing again?? _________________ (\__/)

merci beaucoup!
it's always a fun time at the antic.
we're playing at asbury lanes (in asbury park) on sat. oct. 18th
and at the blender theater on e. 23rd st, manhattan, on monday oct. 20th.
i think there is only a $7 cover for that show and it's a good venue.

Loved the falafel from Sahadi's and the lychee limeade (from a thai restaurant, whose name escapes me right now).
I'm continuing the falafel kick today with a falafel salad from maoz. _________________ the ebb and flow is natural, so don't overanalyze it.

Anyone know what the deal was with the cops? We got a beer at the Brazen Head and as we were about to leave one of the owners told us if we left the enclosed area the three cops staring at us would give us a ticket for $150 for drinking a beer in the street. It never used to be like this. After we chugged our beers we had more at Chip Shop and walked right by two other cops who didn't say a thing. WTF?
