the former zuzu's petals on berkeley place between 6th and 7th (right off 7th, really) is becoming a coffee shop by the same owner as cafe regular. it should be open within a week or 10 days. what they've done so far with the interior space looks terrific.

Thank god! Someone put Ozzie's out of its misery.

i actually think that if the new place is anything like cafe regular, the two places will be able to coexist.

ozzie's is the crunchy, granola park slope coffee house.

i think this place is going to be like a super cozy cafe in paris. maybe 8 seats total, if they're lucky. the space is TINY.

If by "crunchy, granola park slope coffee house" you mean shitty coffee, dirty floors and marginal service then yes, I suppose you're correct.

The only thing I like about Ozzie's on 7th Avenue is the fact that the store used to be a drugstore and it still looks cool inside

i agree, lts. i do like the inside.

i think it could be great with a little sprucing up, actually. i'd hate to see them go out of business on that corner...it's a nice hang out for many people.

qui est le hate??

lurve ozzie's, people-watching, sit there for hours, computer access, good music. staff is mostly humorless (what do you expect, they're yankees fans tho) but snap to when I give orders...

I don't really care if it's on a terrace overlooking Lake Como; if the coffee is bad (which it is) it has no business being in the coffee business.

I think Ozzie's is way worse coffee than Starbucks. In a pinch, Starbucks can do a passable iced coffee or latte. I've never had anything passable at Ozzie's.
