The Grecian Corner, my diner of 10 years and the longest relationship I ever had , is no more. Most may know this diner by the name Restaurant, as that was much more prominent on the sign than the name. It was across the street from John Jay.
They used to chase away the kids away who tried to go there after school, nd hired no one under the age of 30. The place was beautiful. The waffles were outstanding. And they were open 24-7.
The signs say they are closed for rennovations, but ran into one of the waitresses there who is now working at Purity (she didn’t seem as happy). She told me that the Grecian Corner is turning into some chicken place, which makes me wonder if chicken is the new sushi.
So long Grecian Corner. It truly is the end of an era for me.

Wte need independent confirmation on this. The cop-loving son of the owner said they'd be remodeling [back in June] and would be open by now. There's got to be some other reason behind this, and I tend to believe the worst.

That's a shame. So many wonderful Sunday morning breakfast memories of the Grecian Corner are destined to vanish into the ether. C'est la vie!

Wow, they didn't have the best diner food, but the service was very friendly, delivery was quick, and the booths were comfy. sorry to see it go.

I was rather sad to see the all-to-familiar sign of 'closed for renovations', which lots of times leads to 'closed down'. It will be missed....
