I havent' seen any signs for it yet, but the guy at Heights Coffee just mentioned that the Flatbush Street Fair was going on this Sunday.

This one is typically much more laid back then the Atlantic Antic.

In all my years here the two lamest street fairs are the Flatbush Antic (or whatever it's called) and the Vanderbilt street fair which doesn't seem like it's happening this year.

Gorgeous day, nice vibe out there, little foot traffic right now. The guy at the Heights Coffee Shop is supplying the block with ice! I say go now before it gets c r a z y...

What's the ratio of sausage/zeppole/sock-vendor to normal vendor ratio?

Just walked through it this afternoon and this evening. Outside of the band stage and the pony rides on 7th & Flatbush--so damned cute you could puke in good cheer--this was yet another one of those snoozer street fairs. Same sausage carts. Same mozzareppas. And did someone say socks! Wow, socktacular! Very little local businesses. And generally a street fair just like every other street fair.

Don't know who organizes it, but they should seriously look at the Atlantic Antic. Very locally organized. Filled with stands and events you don't see at other street fairs. And generally a unque and fun time for all.

The most Flatbush Avenue got out of this street fair was a streak of grease running down the hill.

    A solid thumbs down.
