Okay, okay, I know I only write when I have a gig, but I have a gig, so I'm writing, okay?

Saturday 9pm my African-Hungarian group is going to play at Night & Day at President just west of 5th Avenue. The group plays the standard African-Hungarian repertoire.

If you want to check out some of our music online, you can go to
http://cdbaby.com/cd/dallam/ or you could also go to

My other band that plays around town is Kakande (see http://www.jumbierecords.com/artists/kakande.html ) which is much in the classical West African tradition. Dallam-Dougou is my chance to spread my compositional wings.

And I guess I'm not writing here so much because I have a new blog. Well, two blogs, but I'm going a little crazy with

It would be lovely to get some people from the neighborhood at our show. It's a pretty amazing group of musicians, so a good time is guaranteed~ otherwise, there's Hungarian fire water on the house!
