Ceramics Studios?

Has anyone seen or heard of any ceramic studios that offer classes? I'm talking about acutally making things, not that stupid 'paint-your-own-pot' thing... I would have thought there'd be something like that here but have had trouble researching it...

They have paint your pot, but they also have wheel, mosaic & clay sculpture classes. I've only done the fun paint your own stupid pot thing, but it's a nice space & good vibe.

Ive been going to Painted Pot in Carroll Gardens for about a year now and they offer excellent wheel throwing classes in a very nice studio in the basement of their space. The new session begins Sept 20th and its about $320 for a 9 week course. This includes all clay and glazes and unlimited studio time outside of class. If you work, most likely the time you would have outside of class for that would be on the weekends. Anyway I would definitely recommend it. The only other thing you pay for is space you use in the kiln when you fire your work. They base it on the cubic inch you take up in the kiln. meaning you measure all your work before it goes in. Approx. $4.00 for a mug or small bowl. I've taken a few other classes around the city and this seems to be really good and fair for the price as it goes.

You're supposed to PAINT the pot, not smoke it! :twisted:

One of our Brooklynian regulars, brooklynpotter also gives classes. If anyone is interested in this, they could also try PMing her.
