Cuyler Gore Park

I live right next to this small and occasionally well kept park.

Beefs I have:
- WhyTF can't people put litter in one of the 10 or more garbage bins or barrels the part seems to contain. Littering is plague on public space and seemingly goes unpunished by public authorities. I see piles of clothes and other crap at random times and people seems to use the corners as a drop off for household crap too.
- There are lightposts in the park yet the lights are not used at all. The park is technically closed after dusk but because it is pitch black is a black hole of pathways and trees at night. Why not light the park!?!?
- I wish they would install some flower beds on the east side of the park in addition to the west.

Props to:
- Parks dept for doing a nice job with the western garden flower beds
- Great playground
- Summer sprinkler/fountains

Any thoughts from neighbors and residents?

Where is this one? I'm new to the neighborhood and don't know any of the names yet.

But yeah, the Brooklyn proclivity for littering never ceases to amaze. Though my block of CH is much tidier than my old PS nabe.

park is along Fulton (which explains much of the litter I expect) between Carlton and Greene.

Ah! That park isn't lit at night? Crazy.

Large tree branch was felled in Cuyler Gore this past week of rain, partially coming down on the sidewalk on Fulton side. Was cleared by Wednesday night though by Parks presumably.

    What a wet week!

Yes, this nice park spooks me out at night. Why no lights? Who do we talk to to get them turned on?

I guess starting with the Parks Department and Councilperson James would be a good start?

I am pleased to mention that the lights in Cuyler Gore park have been turned on at night for the past few nights.

They are nice looking lamps -- very, almost a little too bright and definitely make the park and surroundings more navigable at night.

    Cheers
