Found Cat – Black w/ Turquoise Collar

I live on Prospect between Carleton and Flatbush and a black cat has taken up residence behind our garbage cans. She is clearly someone's pet and I'd like to get her back home if I can.

She's all black, has a turquoise collar but no tags, is small but has a husky build, and is very friendly.

Has anyone lost a cat or heard of friends or neighbors who have lost a cat?

Can you post a photo on the board? It would help.

This may be obvious, but in case you haven't already done so, call 311 to report finding the cat. Animal Care & Control maintains a database of lost and found pets. (I wouldn't recommend turning the cat in to AC&C, though, since they do perform euthanization.)

I've heard about a lost black cat that's been declawed... my friend brought it to my attention because I'm taking care of a black stray (definitely NOT declawed, as my furniture can attest to...), I'll see if I can find out where he heard about it at...
