Subject: What's up with "Da Cake Spott"?

On the PS side of Flatbush near Prospect, next to the locksmith. I'm intrigued by the place, but I've never seen it open, despite the fact that the sign (banner) has been there for months. Is it a commercial/wholesale bakery, or are there plans for it to open as a retail business? Anyone have the scoop? If I ever saw someone there, I'd ask them, but the gate always seems to be down.

A sign up doesn't always mean an actual business follows. Like that Java and Juice joint that was supposed to follow Biscuit. Or that Jamaican place on 5th and Prospect. Or the laundromats on 5th and Union.

Also: that's such a terrible name for a business.

People were talking about this on Brownstoner in October, but no one has the actual scoop.

i'm sure with so many writers and editors in the area someone has already pointed it out, but the crunch on flatbush has a huge misspelling on its awning: NO JUDGEMENTS.

i'm not making any judgments myself, except if you're going to put it in letters 4 feet tall, it's definitely worth running spellcheck first.

    ouch.

I think both spellings are acceptable variants.

Well. Yummy Taco has "Flabush" on it's awning. I laugh every time I see that.

Oh snap again! I thought you were accusing ME of not spelling correctly....now I feel slightly silly, but on the same note, I've been having this thing lately where I cannot seem to spell ANYTHING right, even words I KNOW I know.

Carnivore- do I have a brain tumor?

Yes! I used to catch the B65 bus there and that sign always made me laugh too. I still don't get what the heck their sign is trying to say with the whole "Fresh tortillas as taco tex mexican food".
