Anti-Obama E-mails

there have been many versions of these going around with various false claims such as he's a muslim, he took his oath on the koran, he won't pledge allegiance to the flag, he's a stealth al qaeda agent, etc., etc.

a friend in washington is doing some research trying to get to the bottom of this and figure out where they're all coming from.

I've seen that shit all over the internet, frankly. It's disturbing.

It reminds me of what happened to my grandmother when she ran against Pete DuPont for Congress. She was very popular as mayor of Newark, Delaware, but outside of Newark, Delaware is pretty anti-Semitic. My grandmother almost won that election until these booklets came out a week or two before the election which stated that my grandmother was a Jew and Jews do all these awful things....

Ugly stuff. My grandmother got out of politics after that.

I just thought that this was propaganda by racists who can't stand the thought of a black president, and prejudice against Muslims is more likely to fly in the heartland.
