I like art: Gowanus Studio Space

just came across this, so I thought I'd share...there was an opening last night of a new artist space

The Gowanus Studio Space offers space, equipment, and much-needed support to emerging designers, artists, and craftspeople. Located in the industrial neighborhood along the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, the studio houses a large industrial arts workshop as well as private studio and exhibition space.

By providing training, workspace, tools and resources, The Gowanus Studio hopes to encourage cross-pollination between the art and design communities; support new business and design projects; and establish an arts resource for the surrounding community.

I really enjoyed the studio tour a few months ago. They should do it more often.
