Union Market Busted

Apparently they get their produce from Rossman's in Sunset Park. Or else they park their van there.

"Well whaddya know, if it wasn't the old Union Market van double parked in front of Rossman's Discount Fruits; a wholesale/retail fruit market / grocery store on 3rd Avenue under the Gowanus in Sunset Park. I guess this is Union Markets idea of "locally grown"."

Hmmm. I like a good scandal as much as the next message-boarder, but the photo looks more like "stopped at the light" than double-parked. I occasionally shop at Rossman's, and I never shop at either Union Market, so I guess I'm cutting out the middle-guy already.

Or, it could have been a delivery.

that makes a lot of sense to me -- don't discount produce places usually buy the slightly older/less beautiful hand-me-downs of full price stores?
