Doggy don't!

Subject: Doggy don't!

Just throwing it out there. Why must there be so much dog waste on the sidewalks? I do not have a dog, but I have to believe you understand that when you get a dog, you contract with yourself that picking up after your dog is number three after feeding and walking as a must do (do).

Is that why Brooklynites were nicknamed the Dodgers?

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Please tip the waitstaff.

I have 2 dogs, always pick up after them but I'm the one who steps in dog shit! It makes me crazy when people don't pick up after their dogs. Do they want their neighborhood to look like crap? (No pun intended!)

Seriously, it is not like dog owners from other neighborhoods drive here to walk their dogs and have them shit all over the place. But if that is the case, I would have to guess its probably those Park Slopers.

Actually, they were named the Dodgers because people had to dodge all teh trolleys that used to run throughout Brooklyn before the automobile and oil industries put them out of business.

I usually manage to avoid stepping in it while walking my dogs, but the worst thing is when your DOG steps into another dogs poop...OMG. So gross. It's happened to me in Crown Heights 3 or 4 times.

We're all preaching to the chior here, the people who don't pick up probably aren't reading, because they simply don't care. The only person I give a pass to is a blind guy who walks his black lab in my hood.

I have on occasion followed the VIOLATOR and pick up the poop myself and left it on the offenders stoop with a note.

I like the sound of that. "VIOLATOR". That is kind of how I feel when i step in it.

That happened to my older dog Cheech a week ago! I don't know what the hell this dog ate but I swear it was like cement. Poor Cheech didn't know what to do and he really didn't like me cleaning it off. Yuck!

Oh, my dog walker taught me a trip about the diarrhea issue. Carry newspapers. Then throw the paper down under the dog when it's getting into position. makes clean up a lot easier and then you don't need the water bottle.

Another good trick is if there's dirt, sand, or leaves around. You can kick some of it over the diarrhea to make it easier to pick up with a plastic bag.

    newspaper is a good idea.

the other day i was walking down the street and my dog left a huge puddle of diarrhea in the middle of the sidewalk. she gave no warning, just squatted and squirted. there was no one else on the block. i ran. sorry.
