accountants for tax time?

anyone have a trusty accountant in the area that they go to at tax time? Think i'm going to skip the 1040-EZ form for the first time and right off some ish. Any referrals or recommendations out there?

Looking for the same thing. Anyone have any suggestions in P Heights or Park Slope? Also need a relatively quick turnaround.

And what do you expect to pay for a fairly straightforward job? I reckon I've been paying way too much.

my husband and i paid $240 for taxes this year at the tax place in park slope on 7th ave b/t 8 & 9th. we had an appt but they took walk ins. last year we paid $500 in manhattan. but, we were there for 2 hours most of the time spent waiting.

I have an awesome accountant in Manhattan. Depending on what you need, he costs @175-250. Works out of his apartment, gives us great advice, and helped us get the maximum refund, without anything sketchy. PM me for his contact info.

I have a lawyer friend here in Brooklyn who does taxes on the side -- he's especially good with artsy people who have, you know, kinda irregular finances. He usually charges $140, which includes the e-filing fee. You can also PM me if you want contact info.
