Trail of blood on Prospect Avenue

From around 6th Ave to 4th. Does anyone know anything about this?

It ends in between 4th and 5th, closer to 4th Avenue. There are some puddles of bloody type stuff and some splotches. The cops never came, so I guess it's something they already know about or it's not important. :?
