My credit is not where it needs to be. So, how can I score an apartment without having a co-signer on my lease?

    Cash money.
Offer to pay six months in advance, or some similarly large financial show that you're good for the $$ (not neccesarily in actual cash, btw)
This is more likely to be effective with an individual landlord than a management company.
And obviously, only works if you have money, just a bad credit score.

it's good to work with an owner and not a management. they tend to be more lenient. you usually have to provide good references & proof of employment. you may also need to provide a little more in security deposit.

also, appearence is everything. when you show up to view apartments, look professional, clean and responsible. it'll help. trust me.
