Body Elite on Court Street

I was just curious as to what everyone thinks of the Body Elite gym on Court street? Looking for a new place to work out and wanted to get some feedback on the gyms in the neighborhood.

I usually prefer taking the classes versus being on a cardio machine, are they any good there?

I've been a member for two years now, and I'm happy with Body Elite. It is, as you can imagine, a very basic, no-frills gym. I've taken very few classes there so I can't comment on that, but I'm satisfied in regard to everything else. The only equipment I've had to wait in line for are the treadmills, and even then, it's never been longer than 5-10 minutes. I wish they played better music over the PA, and that you could play your own dvds or plug your ipods into the machines, but that's pretty minor.

I've been a new member for less than a year. This has been my 3rd gym membership. The others were larger franchised gyms. BE has a nice friendly no hassle attitude. It can get busy on weekends. My wife likes the classes, i prefer the cardio. You'd be surprised at how many of your neighbors you'll meet there and then see on the subway platform.

What does a membership cost at BE? I'm interested in both a single adult price and whether they have a family plan. Thanks.

for gym music and workout music, I recommend european dance music.......

it's ALWAYS the best motivational tool for me...

.....and you don't have to tell anyone at the office if u just listen to it on the mp3 player at the gym ;) ....

.... here's a compilation series on itunes that I recommend:

Wrong - the "european dance music" of Body Reserve only motivates me to leave the place early - it's f-ing inane. BR's a nice place to work out, but I'd rather have anything else playing: rawk music, Paul Harvey, white noise - ANYTHING.
