I need sappy indie flicks to watch

In the vein of Eternal Sunshine, Closer, Before Sunset/Sunrise, Garden State (to a lesser extent) etc etc. Something indie and sappy so I can have my girlfriends over, drink a few bottles and get some stinky cheese for a rip-roarin, tear-filled good time. Something as cheesy as Love Actually might work depending on the awesome factor.

Something easily blockbuster-able is ace, or else netflix wins.

GO!

Eagle Vs. Shark (one of the Flight of the Conchords guys is in it) A little different, a little sweet, and some fun moments

    Harold and Maude
    Singles
    Say Anything
Sid & Nancy (except the ending)
    Brokeback Mountain
    Chasing Amy
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (it's a musical, so you have to be into that kind of thing)
Everyone Says I Love You (also a musical, and a Woody Allen flick, but good for what it is)

I'll see if I can think of some more later...

ya know ive never seen Say Anything. I feel like a failure of a sappy-movie fan. However, for anyone who hasnt seen Before Sunset and Before Sunrise, Wiki that shit and hop on it (and see them in ORDER!)

If you like Julie Delpy, see "Two Days in Paris"

Better yet for Delpy, check out Killing Zoe. It's a crime film, but she gets me sappy anyway.

i really liked Saving Face. the descriptions i read before watching it were mostly about the gay couple, but i thought the heart of the movie was really the mother -- her relationship to her daughter and her parents, but also to herself.

other indy goodies (though i don't know if they're tear jerkers -- i cry at life insurance commercials, so i'm not a good control):

    smoke signals
    the five senses

oh, and if you watch say anything (which you must), you should also see better off dead (if you haven't already).

Check out Cobra, starring Sylvester Stallone. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, but most importantly it will make you think.

If you are into documentaries Red Hot Ballroom and Spellbound both are surprisingly heartrending.

You'd like the director Michel Gondry's other movie La Science des rêves (The Science of Sleep). It's also written by him and autobiographical!

definitely! i watched it with the lady last month and we both loved it. jermaine's character definitely had a strong part in it (loves me some Conchords). it's silly, awkward, funny, sweet. sounds like what you're lookin for.
