For a change, a pleasant PH story

I lost my wallet last night after a drunk night out with some friends...

I'm looking for it today and figure I left it in the car (relax, we had a DD) and there's a note on my car that has a number to call to get my wallet back. Before I could even call though, the girls who found my wallet saw me and gave me my wallet back...

Granted, there was a cool $20 or so missing, but that beats having to close all accounts and get a new license, etc...

So it's not all bad.

Great story, you still might want to check with your Credit card companies for any unauthorized charges at Victoria Secrets.

Not to be a downer cool, but King is right. Two months ago I got an $800.00 charge from Forever 21 (??!??) taken off my Amex. I don't recall buying a bunch of $800.00 sundresses in NJ.

It's nice that they returned the wallet, but stealing $20 from you was not cool. I concur that you should take KWAC's advice.

$20 is a small price to pay to *not* have to go to DMV to get a replacement licence.
i think it *is* a nice story for once and how does anyone know that the girls took the money? Someone may have found it, taken the money and left it there. The girls found it and left you a note.
Certainly check the charges on your card but no need for everyone to be so cynical.

I'm in total agreement. I'd get your credit/atm cards replaced but yay for getting back your property. always awesome.

I disagree. Maybe the rest of you don't mind losing $20, but I sure would. While the girls may not have stolen it, on the other hand, they just might have. Checking the accounts is not cynical, it's common sense.

I guess I hold people to higher standards than others.

That is a very good story. I've had a couple fine experiences in PH like that too. Recently I dropped my car keys on the street right in front of the driver-side door as I got out of my car. A person found them, left a note on my window and gave them back to me. (I think he posts on DH.) Also, even more amazingly, in 2003 (white folks scurrying to Key Food and back to their apartments), I dropped my wallet in front of Muhammad's on a Friday night. Around midnight I went to look for it but there was a rowdy posse of drunk guys standing where I thought I dropped it so I thought better of doing the, "uh have any of you seen a brown wallet," thing so I let the wallet go. The next day I got a call from my bank saying that somebody found my wallet. Turns out a guy was coming back from work a 1 am and found it right in front of the revolving night window. None of those dudes saw it! Too much Colt 45 I guess. Nothing was missing either. Anyways, just wanted to spread the ProHi positivity, positively.
