Whats the deal with no picking up of trash this week (esp recyclables)?

Area: park pl, sterling pl, washington ave...

tuesday was a holiday, right?... trash was not even supposed to be put out that day.

Yup, Tuesday was a city holiday because of the election.

AAAH, looks like "everyone" (including myself) didnt know that! :P

you can always try 311 if you're not sure. i called on tuesday and they had a recording saying there would be no pickups during the day, but that garbage would be picked up after 5 and recycling not until next week.

i don't believe that they actually pick up recycling, hope they do!

Does anyone else's building not bother with recycling? (Mine doesn't) Isn't this illegal?

Friday was also a holiday - Veteran's Day.

trash in PH, especially washington, seems kind of almost out of control...

Today (Tuesday) I saw the sanitation guys taking people's clear recycling bags and putting them in their garbage truck (not a recycling truck). And they were doing this to everyone's trash on Park Place and Vanderbilt. Has Brooklyn cut down on their recycling program? I noticed that while my trash was picked up in weeks past, my recycling hadn't. What gives?
