Custom Closets?

Anybody have any experience with custom closets? Either do it your self models or full service installations?

I guess back a 100 years ago, closet space was not a big deal... The closets in our apt are way to small.. need to optimize...

We used the Elfa system from Container Store for our large closet. I really love it and its very durable. The arms for holding the shelf are a little tricky to snap into place but once you get the hang of it its smooth sailing. You may also want to check out Lowes which has the California Closet systems which I have heard good things about.
