Boulders on Dean Street?
anonymous
This morning I noticed four boulders on Dean Street, between Classon and Franklin. On the next block, heading towards Grand, I saw two more, only these ones were painted like American flags. Has anyone else noticed them? Any info on or theories behind their presence?

I've sighted the boulders as well and I do believe they were 2 more today. It's a bit giddy right? they're JUST THERE...being boulders. I wish I knew where they were coming from...I'd like to have 2 of them just show up in my backyard too...unpainted of course! There... I've place my order! -
theburgerkingThey were here four years ago when I moved here. -
wirenutThey have been there more than 4 years, I don't exactly remember why.
Possibly left over from a sewer upgrade and the contractor just left them behind -
whynot_31businesses are responsible for maintaining the sidewalks. When large trucks unload on the sidewalks, they break ...causing the business to have to repair the side walk. $$$
A boulder prevents a truck from pulling up onto the side walk, yet does not need permission (like a bollard or tree) because it is temporary.
Bollards and trees have to leave a 36" wide path for ADA and such.
boulders just appear. -

wirenutone kinda looks like OBAMA
one kinda looks like HILLARY
one kinda looks like MCCAIN
one kinda looks like it's from the island of Jamaica -
caseopeleI forgot to add that my older dog was afraid of them for the first few months. Nothing makes a 65lb shepherd mix quake in terror like a freaking boulder.

whynot_31needless to say, the city isn't going to go around picking them up. The sanitation police probably don't view them as being trash ...so, no tickets for the property owners. -
