my new favorite cold remedy

so i've been sick for a while with what I have been unaffectionately calling "the plague," and i just had to share what has been a wonderful new discovery: the chicken soup at El Continental.

it comes piping hot with a hunk of chicken on the bone (skin on, even!), a big hunk of carrot, a few massive potatoes, some noodles and then a coffee cup sized container of rice that you add to taste. it smells like it has a lot of chili pepper, but doesn't taste that way. in short, i cannot explain what makes this chicken soup so spectacular, but it is some of the best chicken soup i've had in my whole life. there's probably a fair amount of salt, but when you're sick you need electrolytes, right?
