    It was soooooooooo much fun! If you're a foodie, like me, it was awesome! There were lots of interesting people there and the risottos were delicious. Of course I think mine should have won first prize, but I'm still glad I participated. Most of the people I talked to were from surrounding areas of Brooklyn, and only a handful from Park Slope.

    Antipasto-- roasted red pepper and mascarpone crema with artichoke hearts and olives. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm soooooooooo good. The crema I have leftover is like candy!!!!!!

    I know nothing about risotto.

    Isn't risotto just rice?

    What is judged -- the sauces and other foods that you mix with the risotto?

    It is just rice, the same way that Foie Gras is "just liver". It is made with special strains of rice, in a painstaking and time-consuming manner which results in a texture and flavor unlike any conventional rice.
