Woe is me. :( A La Cie 1 TB (yes, terrabyte, who knew I would live so long as to see this and larger) has CRASHED on us and I am looking to data recovery on the drive(s).

Before I ship it off to Cali at a cost of several thousand $$, does anyone have an recommendations of a local data recovery outfit?

I have a call into the Mac Support Store on 7th (are they any good?).

Help is appreciated. :)

And PS, I will NEVER by another La Cie product again!

    Just saw this...

Have any luck locally, or did you already ship it off?

I might be able to help. Let me know...

The Mac Store in Brooklyn sucks. The last time I had a problem, they never answered the phone, nor returned the call.

Well, I went to the Mac Support Store, the guys were very nice, dropped off the drive. It was looked at in less than 2 hrs and data recovery began. Supposed to be ready today/tomorrow.

I'll follow up on the end result.

Though I did see the guy hang up 4 times on incoming Skype calls...though he was with me :)

    So, how did it go?

Data recovered and well worth the visit?
