What is up with all the stray cats on 14th street between 5-6 avenues? On a Sunday night you can see all the strays out in the trash. They don’t look in bad shape, but there are just so many.

You should e-mail Slope Street Cats at [email hidden] to find out what you can do to help these feral cats.

There have always been stray cat colonies throughout PS; and for good reason. While growing up on 15th St btwn 8th and 9th Aves, there were countless strays in the alley behind our apt. Always. And for good reason. I would advise against getting rid of them unless you want another four legged problem.

For what its worth...its not about getting rid of the strays. Its about controlling the colony so that things don't get out of control and more and more kitties aren't born just to die. Its about finding homes for any friendly cats and getting the feral ones fixed and then returning them to their 'home' as they know it. Ultimately, its really about preventing needless suffering and death of innocent animals.

These were my thoughts too. The cats I see on 14th street are in good shape, but I have seen some other strays in Brooklyn who were not so well off. In fact, I took one in last year who was starving and sick.

From what I understand, they are here to rock this town.

    Rock it inside out.

In addition to rocking this town they are preparing for a Rumble in Brighton tonight and there ain't a god damn thing that the cops can do.

All jokes aside, I don't want to see innocent cats suffer and definitely not have kittens born to die. If there is something we can all do collectively, phone calls and such please post.
