Vinyl in Williamsburg

edited November -1 in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Bushwick
I'm going to make (half) a day of vinyl shoppin' in Williamsburg - I had planned on going to Academy Records Annex, but I see that there are quite a few shops in the area - any other recommendations?

Ear Wax and Soundfix (both on Bedford) usually do me pretty well. There's a place on N6th somewhere between Bedford and Wythe also but the name escapes me. Becon's Closet also has a mild selection of vinyl.

greenpoint has a few great places also. permanent records (my favorite)on franklin st, eat records on meserole ave, the thing on manhattan ave. i'm too lazy to look up addresses or cross streets. google them.

+1 for Permanent Records! pretty new place. i stopped in there a few weeks ago when I was riding to LIC and got some great (and rare) punk 7"s for very cheap. it's on Franklin and I think India?

Never been to that spot. Where's it at? I'm always in need of new places to check out as well.

The Thing is on Manhattan between Huron & Green. I think you'd need at least a few hours there tho, everything is just piled in. Gives record "digging" new meaning!

when it comes to vinyl hunting, the thing gives me major anxiety. but i've heard people finding great stuff there.

I actually get the complete opposite of anxiety. It's kinda relaxing to just go through hundreds and hundreds of records. Especially if its just loose 45s and you gotta check eeeeeeachhhh and eeeeevery one of them. Paid of huge this weekend at Junk. Chad & Jeremy and The Seekers 45s for a buck!
