Zoning, air rights and more

Hey,

I've been checking out Brooklyn apartments and I really like to buy one in Park Slope. The only problem I have is a construction site next to it. It might bring up a 10 floor building, which would kill the light in the place. Also on one of the sites there is an empty space and I really like to know who owns it and what's possibly going to happen to it.

Does anybody have info on where to find more info about air rights, builders , zoning and so on in the Slope?

Thanks!
