Increased Police presence at Atlantic station?

Just got home and noticed there was a hell of a lot of police at the Pacific station. They were checking woman's bags etc. Not unusual, however there were way more police than I customarily see. Also a black family in front of me remarked, "It's because of Shawn Bell"

With that lingering in my mind as I walked down 4th ave I realized there were like 5 cop cars and a cop van parked around a few corners within a couple blocks. Weird, is it because of the verdict?

Maybe I'm just assuming things, either way, thought I'd share.

I was in a cab near Target and the cabbie said that he could not go down Atlantic Avenue because of the Sean Bell case. He also told me that he did not like NYPD.

Went thru Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station on the 4/5 one morning earlier this week and there was a cop or two about every 15 feet along the entire length of the platform. Regular uniforms, not the Torch stormtroopers.

Wouldn't be surprised if the extra presence today was owing to the Bell verdict. I think there were supposed to be like 1,000 cops on standby.

The City received $100 Mil from the Feds in anti-terror funds and gave it to the NYPD. Hence this is Bloomberg and Kelly applying the funds. It was on the news last week, before a verdict in the Bell case was discussed.

There has been a cop in the subway at Prospect Avenue every morning for the past couple of weeks.

These new cops pack automatic weapons and killer dogs? I might be more afraid of these stormtropper cops than I am of terrorists.
