Rolfing

Has anyone had rolfing sessions with Ruthie Streiter (5th street & 8th avenue), or anywhere in brooklyn? If so, do you recommend it. I'm looking to get either rolfing or intense deep tissue massage in the park slope or surrounding area. Thanks very much

....and he thought she was great. in fact, here he is now:

Husband: yes, i had ten sessions of rolfing with ruthie and i think she has great hands and goes very deep. most of the time, the sessions were quite intense but were not painful. sometimes, i was sore the next day, especially at the beginning. gradually, i got used to the treatment and understood what she was doing. i also enjoyed her upbeat personality and we usually chatted away our sessions although she was working very hard. i would definitely go back to her and probably will do a series of three very soon. i give her an A+...definitely worth the money.

Great thanks Susan+Husband for responding. I'm sick of getting weak massages (which are titled as deep tissue massages) - definitely looking for an intense massage and rolfing sounds interesting so I may try her out.

how much do these rolfing sessions go for?

They are $150 for an hour session (less if you book a package, 3, 5 or 10 sessions). Her website is ruthiebodywork.com if you want to see the prices. I'm not sure how this compares with other places though...

Bit expensive compared to normal massages but I have mild scoliosis which occasionally causes me discomfort so looking to see if rolfing can alleviate this.
