recommend a local outfit that would load my moving truck?

I am leaving NYC! I have reserved a Penske truck which I will drive with my belongings to my new home out of state.

I called the guys I used last time (Gar Hing Moving) in August 2006 to unload and haul stuff up the one flight of stairs to my place, but this time around they more than doubled what they asked for last time.

We do have a bit more stuff than we did when we arrived, but not more than twice as much stuff! Not to mention the fact that this time they get to take stuff down a flight of stairs, not up.

Is there anyone else you would recommend, or has cheap labor really doubled in price in less than 2 years?

Pick up some migrant workers.
