Best of DH

There are a lot of amazing posts on DH that do not get enough love. If you know of one, nominate it below.

Eventually, it would be great to have a "Nominate this post" button on each post, a la Craigslist.

I ran into somebody on the street tonight who brought up this thread... She told me she didn't comment because everything she thought of was too obvious: El Carneviento, and so on. The idea was more like, highlight great and underrated posts.

Hrrm... howsabout the stuff about the ProHo gaffer, the thread where everyone was speculating about what to do with that one abandoned building with the loading docks (can't remember where it was, sorry), and LOCK YOU DOORS?

This is good timing. All the "best of" lists come out in late December... Maybe we should have an awards gala! We can have pseudo-Oscar categories:

You could do all sorts of bests -- best blog of a Prospect Heights resident (or DH poster), best neighborhood businesses, etc.

the thread around halloween regarding peeing in water balloons and the assorted methods to fill water balloons with pee got pretty funny.

I think there should be an award for "Most Self-Deprecating Poster" or "Most Evil Poster" ... preferably going to someone who prefers to wear Jesus Pants ...

Oh i remember another one... the person who wrote about Wing Wagon and described looking in the mirror afterwards and looking like a zombie or something... i forget who what when and where, but it was hilarious.

The "photogenic white guy" thread is also kind of a classic, although there were some ugly moments.

For some reason, I've been thinking about that awesome thread a few months ago when "Anonymous Guest" finally got banned. That was a classic!
