New to the area - read about a couple in Williamsburg and East, but would prefer not to bust a sweat in an American Apparel ad.

I can't seem to find anything other than yoga.

    Subject: richie's

Some people told me it was really a guy's-only kinda place

I have still had no luck finding a decent place within a short distance =/

Why not try something way cheaper than a gym? Group fitness classes or a personal trainer is probably the way to go and it’ll be a lot more cost effective than a trainer will be. (347) 564-2414

My husband just signed up for American Physique. He said it's very similar to Harbor, which was his gym when we were in the slope.

Its only $50 a month and no sign-up fee!!

Absolute Power on Grand Street, 2 blocks west of Bushwick Ave (between Humboldt and Graham).

It's pretty down and dirty, the ladies locker room is sometimes pretty stanky, and you may have to share freeweights with someone who just got off the bus from Rikers, but there are tons of treadmills and other cardio equipment and it's never crowded.

    Plus it's only $30/month.
