Just wanted to know what everyone thought about the area (i.e. places to go, restaurants, people, crime...etc). We are considering a condo there, but there doesn't seem to be much in the surrounding area.

Any input would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks.

There are a few restos on Franklin and a bakery with cupcakes. You are baout 4 or 5 blocks from Dakar, Choice Market, and the red bar on Grand Ave (at Lafayette). There's also a cute litte coffee shop with free wi-fi on either Nostrand or Franklin, just a few of blocks from Bed-Stuy Home Depot. Lexington itself is a little desolate as far as commercial spots go, but the surrounding streets, within a few blocks certainly have more than just bodegas. If you walk down to Myrtle, you'll find a new cafe on the corner of Myrtle and Classon, a yoga place, a record store, etc. You'll have to walk a few blocks for stuff, but it's there.

ajf27's right. You have a few little spots. I don't live that far from there. I just couldn't think of anything off the top of my head then. Anyway, it's not terrible...I don't really fancy Lexington too much in and of itself. But within a few blocks you have some nice spots. Myrtle and DeKalb offer a lot actually.

Thanks for the input guys. How is the crime in the surrounding area? Would you feel safe enough for your cute girlfriend to walk home late at night from the train? I guess that's my biggest worry.

LOL How cute is your girlfriend? j/k

I'm female and I feel pretty safe. I don't make it a habit of walking late at night though and I keep my wits about me. No cell phone gabbing while I walk and what not.
