Bars in Bed Stuy

Why do you all think there is such a dearth of cool bars in Bed Stuy? Does anyone know any plans by any investors to open a neighborhood lounge/bar in the near future?

There is Rustik on Dekalb b/w Franklin and Kent although they have had their share of "growing pains".

In answer to your question, I do not know. I do wish there were more options in the area, though.

Solomon's Porch and Sugar Hill and theres a next one by Throop and MacDonough I forget the name again. If those ain't cool enough for you maybe you don't belong in Bed Stuy.

Subject: New Bar

The coolest bar in Bed-Stuy is Larry's Liquid Love. Unfortunately most of us aren't cool enough to hang there. Its one of those places where you have to have your game tight to even walk in the door

Guest at 5:30--Solomon's Porch is way cool. I am more thinking about a regular old beer bar with a pool table and a good jukebox. Nothing fancy just classic. I think a bar like that right in Stuyvesant Heights would do really well and it surprises me that there isn't anything like that.

From your lips to God's ears. I was hoping that the Petit Bassam would become a decent bar but it looks like it's going to be a BBQ restaurant/bistro.
