Damn it!

I had a good plan until the heat was over. I have my AC on, and built a whole fortress in the back half of the house....food, wine (not right now, but last night), kitties, movies, etc.

Damn cable box just shorted out. I tried calling The Evil Empire and they wanted to give me an appointment for Saturday. SATURDAY?! Are you fucking kidding me?!

Of course their BK office on 5th Av is closed today so I might have to pack up the fortress, and move to the front of the house to watch tv.

Woe is me!

(hey, you people who went outside...what's it like out there?)

It's HOT!!!!! HOT I TELLS YA!! But not as nasty as yesterday i suppose.
My advice, make some white sangria with lots of ice and seltzer and chill with the kitties.

Oh, I have tv in the other room, I'll just have to move over there and then come back to the other side to sleep (unless I move my other cable box into this room).

So, yesterday was worse, huh? I went out yesterday for a big walk, but early (10:30 - 11:30), and then again at 7ish to BBQ in yard.

I'll still take the heat over the cold any day

Alright I just created my freezer-cave. Closed off half the apartment and turned on the A/C. I have the last disk of Battlestar and Paris je te.... errr...Paris I love you (it's all french) :P

Later I'll watch NBA. Weird combination, I know.

I too have built a fortress- but I was outside for pretty much the whole day and it is waaaaaay to hot. I think my brain cooked a little and I'm not kidding. I have a non-stop light-headed feeling. Woozy.

I'm staying in for the next two days at least. There is nothing out there that is worth a cooked brain.

My question is this: what can I order for dinner that won't make me sweat?

Do you have a specific wine you like to use? I've been craving sangria.

I came to the magical realizations that I have a new keg tub in the basement (from recent adventures), and that I could amuse both self and offspring by filling it with a hose and calling it a kiddie pool.

    And there was much rejoicing.

    (college!)

    Ooh, Jeffrey, now you're talking.

I started another thread about what do when it's so hot out below

Ah yes. Hah, brilliant thinking wrt combing CL for, um..."help."

Since both these threads cover what people did to escape the heat, might want to, as Ali G once put it, rock with the mergin'.

FUCK! Because I moved my car on Monday to go to the Evil Empire for a new cable box, I screwed up for the first time in 11 years and put my car on the wrong side of the street and got a ticket for ASS parking.

Now they can really suck it.

Update: Time Warner can still suck it!

5 weeks into a problem and numerous assurances that somebody will get to the bottom of the issue, they are still not able to diagnose the problem with choppy internet speeds on my account.

I feel like an abuse victim who keeps coming back for more.

Yea, all Time Warner (and Verizon) customers are pretty much Rihanna.

I said that on the call with customer service today and I am guessing she didn't find it funny. Then again, neither did I

Oh, happy day! I get to deal with them tomorrow too. Guess why.....um....because they didn't fucking call me back.

    GAH! ](*,)

maybe if I say "bandwidth shaping", their executive will magically reappear.

    Time warner bandwidth shaping.

    There. I said it.

aha! i called the executive offices for their customer advocate department (5 people on this team) and am finally getting a flurry of follow up calls, credits on my account, etc.

If you ever need to do this, the number is 203-328-0600, option 2. They will make sure that you've tried regular customer service first.

....so why did you bump a thread from last june instead of the thread he posted in?

so isthis the same problem as the last thread? Maybe you should tell us the list of things you have done or items you have replaced.

did you ever use the pingplotter program i suggested in the past?
