Crazy Man on Prospect Place!

Did anyone witness the psycho man running down Prospect Place (bet. Classon and Franklin) on Thursday night (June 5) with a big stick of some sort, screaming that he was gonna kill everyone and chasing people down????
Someone called the cops and they were not messing around. I am talking 10 patrol cars and 3 or 4 unmarked cars with 4 cops inside each came (even driving the wrong way down a one way)
I got the whole incident on video because the guy was completely nuts and it was funny. He was handcuffed and I guess he tried to get away because the cops maced him and he screamed for 20 minutes asking him mom to wipe his eyes and then attempted to get away again after calling his mom a motherf**er and he just kept yelling how he was going blind and his eyes were burning. it was MADNESS but so entertaining to watch.
Just curious to see if anyone else saw this sh*t

yeah, i did. the cops came more than once, and i know more than one person called, since one of the times i called, they showed up right as 911 picked up.

i don't understand why the cops didn't arrest him the first time they came. he had already tried to beat the guy who watched to church with what seemed to be part of a saw horse (church-guy moves FAST) and repeatedly threatened to kill him and my neighbor, whose decision not to hire him for the moving job she was trying to get done that night evidentially precipitated the whole thing.

perhaps one of our inside voices can shed some light on why he was arrested only the 2nd (or was it 3rd?) time the cops came?

while i on the whole found the even more troubling than funny, i have to admit that "i'm gonna bite the blood out cha!" has become a household phrase of late. (he yelled that approximately 100 million times. he was by then in handcuffs, and the cops had set him on the ground on his stomach after he had tried to spit on and bite them following their wiping his eyes with his t-shirt.)

hard to believe some external chemistry wasn't involved in all that. maybe just alcohol, but something....

oh, the big stick was, i think, a baseball bat, offered alternately with the putative sawhorse. the first time the cops came, people on the street said he had a gun (i couldn't see that well), but i don't think they cops found one, at least on their first visit.

Did that happen at about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, give or take? There was a white NYPD van on Prospect near Grand(ish) with at least one young man handcuffed in the back. This guy was thin, late teens/early 20s, white tank top....does that sound like the baseball-bat-wielding guy?

no, that was a different event -- heck of a week, it was.

the tuesday event was more a case of neighbor bickering than anything else. the guy arrested that day (who has since been released) was drunk and noisily banging on his friend's door. his friend wasn't home, but someone else on the hall called the cops and had him arrested. (no way did the caller not know who he was, as he is around all the time. not sure why she called the cops on him.)

i believe the situation was complicated by the fact that the man in question had weed on him, but as i hear it, that's not why the cops came.

granted, my sources on this one are not without bias, but the whole thing stinks, if it is as described to me. (i saw the arrest but only heard the back story later. while clearly drunk, the man arrested did not fight or resist or seems scary in any way. nor has he ever, in my experience. he did take a nasty fall climbing into the police van with cuffs on.)

blood biting guy (can't help but think of the black knight from holy grail) looks quite a bit older, at least by streetlight.

the black knight from Holy Grail!...oh, thank you for that image. I really needed a laugh today and that did it.

Sorry to hear the details of the other incident - it sounds like there's a lot more to the story. There usually is.

anyway thanks for the details and for making me think of that black knight stumping around in the dirt...

LOL well the reason I thought it was funny was because of all the shit the guy was yelling, not because of the seriousness of some drunk dude threatning to harm people. I just wanted some ice cream and the guy scared me so I came back in. I heard the "im gonna bite the blood out cha" one and was cracking up. but also him screaming to his mom and saying "Im going blind, ma, I can't see!. it burns" was pretty funny too because the dumbass wouldn't be in that situation if he didn't try to take off while in handcuffs!! After the cops threw him to the ground after wiping his eyes with his shirt, he kept asking his mom to wipe the blood off his face too. LOL Im sorry but it was more entertaining than most nights sitting in my apartment. My brother was visiting from out of town and must think I live in a crazy ass place.
