New to Park Slope

I am about to begin looking for an apartment in Park Slope and I would appreciate advice about (a) particular blocks or streets where I should target my search and (b) whether my expectations are reasonable. I need a one-bedroom. I have two small dogs. I need to be as close as possible to the park for dog walks. I would also like to be reasonably close to a gym and subway. I don't need a doorman or a fancy lobby. I would prefer not to live in a big building. I will pay up to $3,000 per month. I have excellent credit, good income, etc. Advice?

Thank you very much.

3,ooo will get you a 1 bedroom with no problem.

Hell, the brownstone I rent at has a 2 bed with garden that will be up for rent soon for that price.

So where are you moving from?
