Hi everyone,
I just moved into the north end of Park Slope and am looking for a recommendation for a good dry cleaners that has good prices. I tried Economy Cleaners across the street from Key Food on 5th Ave. & Sterling, but I wasn't thrilled. They only accept cash, the clothes were not ready when they were scheduled to be, and the prices were high. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

Good luck-- I've yet to find one that I like. I actually contemplated going back to my beloved Trusting Cleaners in Cobble Hill but they have closed down--so sad! If you search the archives you'll find some discussions of dry cleaners.

I like the cleaners on the corner of 1st St and 6th Ave. They've always been ready on time and prices aren't too bad either.

I've tried them all. There's just no one in the Slope who can do an outstanding job. Ya gotta go to Halek for that on the Upper East Side. A long and pricey trip but they get the job done.

I live right near them and wanted to like them since they pick up and deliver, but, personally, I found their prices very high and did not think my clothes came out clean.

I use Nice Cleaners on 2nd Street right off of 7th Avenue and have been happy with them for years now.

Huh? That's my corner, and I'm not aware of any Nice Cleaners on or near that corner. Are you referring to the dry cleaner on 7th Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets, or to a cleaner on 4th Street?

    Thanks.

Nice cleaners is owned by the same cleaners I went to for years here in Sunset. They closed down here, and I actually contemplated bringing big jobs into the Slope to Nice. Then I realized I was being silly. However, I (vicariously) recommend them.

    Subject: Bridge Cleaners

The prices and shlepp downtown make Bridge Cleaners less than ideal, but it is the only place in the borough that reliably does quality work. Otherwise, try Hallek on the UES.
